Shahina
She had left her studies many years ago due to lack of money, but when we met her, we came to know that she is also sad because she is disabled, her younger siblings are married, but she has no purpose in life. After continuously meeting and talking to her, we came to know that she can study. Right now she is in the first year of BSW from IGNOU, today Shahina is studying diligently and also has a desire to do something. We hope that Shahina will achieve many things in her life.

Sapna
Wise beyond her years, Sapna is appearing for her senior secondary examinations this year. She was born to rag-picker parents, she dreams of serving the country by joining the civil services some day. However, the paltry income that her parents earn from waste-picking is not enough to ensure that she and her three brothers can continue their education further. Sapna, therefore, wants to pursue a Diploma in Elementary Education and augment her family income. Despite the financial woes of her family, she is determined not to let these constraints impede the education of her younger brothers. Like many girls from this community, Sapna also runs the risk of being married off within some other rag-picker family and may never be able to escape the hardships and indignity of her current life. We don’t want Sapna’s ‘dream’ to die an early death and therefore we are reaching out to you for your support.

Not only that, she wants to support other girls from her community once she is able to find her feet. We just can’t let that happen and therefore we are reaching out to you for your support.
